At least 40-50 unmarked gravesites, marked with creek stones & rocks. Grounds, Joseph D 25 Sep 1864 55yrs 8mos 2days H/O Mary Note: Joseph Grounds was taken from his home at Jugtown (near Alliance) MO., by pro southern forces. He was taken to this area and killed for reasons known only to his murderers. His wife and son found out about his fate & came with a cart hoping to bring back his body, but due to the weather & the condition of the remains, his wife & grandson buried him here.
