Walter E. Ridenhour, of Belle, died Sunday, September 16, 2001, at his home. 
He was 79 years old.
He was born October 11, 1921, in Osage County, a son of Lloyd Dillon and 
Beulah Mae Griff Ridenhour. He married Erlyne Tomlinson of St. James on 
January 10, 1948. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Ridenhour is survived by two sons, Randall Ridenhour and his wife Donna of 
Washington, Mo.; and Rodell Ridenhour and his wife Rachelle, of Parkville, 
Mo.; two daughters, Rachelle Meats and her husband Jim of Oakwood, Ohio; and 
Renita Hills and her husband Bill of Pickerington, Ohio; one brother, Don 
Ridenhour and his wife Donna of Belle; two sisters, Kathern Becklenberg and 
her husband Calvin of Vichy, Mo.; and Dorothy Koenig and her husband Chris of 
Belle. Mo.; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Erlyne; one brother, Henry; one sister, 
Mildred Jones; and one granddaughter.
Mr. Ridenhour served in the U.S. Army from 1943 until 1945. He was a farmer 
and bulldozer operator. He became a teamster and drove a truck for Beaufort 
Transfer Company for 20 years until his retirement in 1985. He continued 
driving a dump truck for Virgil Smith Quarries until March 2000. He was a 
member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Mt. 
Calvary Lutheran Church in Belle with the Rev. John Faszholz and Rev. Norman 
Bahlow co-officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery in Belle.
