(George) G. Rosenruf, was accidentally drowned in the river opposite Mr. S’s (Snyder’s) mill, on yesterday morning. At the time of the accident he was engaged in getting logs out of the river for the mill, and in cutting a log from the raft, instead of using a skiff as was their custom, he got on the log is [sic] float it to the gang way, the log rolled over and plunged him under water, and not being able to swim he was drowned.
