MARION COUNTY HERALD (Palmyra, Missouri, Thursday, December 6, 1900, P. 5 December 6, 1900
"E. L. Martin and family of Warren township expect to start this week for 
Willows, California, where they will make their future home.  Smith Gupton, 
son of Mad Gupton is located at Willows and is engaged in the livery business 
and Mr. Martin goes out to accept a position with him.  Though we are sorry to 
lose Mr. Martin and family, they have our best wishes for health and 
happiness."
