Hannibal Journal January 21, 1847
A Post Office has been established, says the Palmyra Whig, at Mrs. Shannon's, 
about nine miles from Palmyra, on the Paris road, and Milton Bledsoe, Esq., 
appointed Post Master.  "Laurel" is the name of the Office.
