The Hannibal Journal December 9, 1847
We learn that Capt. Bronaugh, of this city, was killed near Puebla, about the 
last of September.  He went out at the head of thirty men to re-capture some 
horses stolen from our men by the Mexicans; was surrounded by the Guerrillas, 
and he and all his men were killed.
