Hannibal Journal, Vol. VI - No. 8 February 18, 1847
Our enterprising townsman, Mr. Samuel J. Harrison, exhibited to us yesterday, 
a leaf (or rather two leaves) of tobacco, which are quite a curiosity.  They 
grew upon the same stem, and are both perfectly developed.  We are not 
Botanists enough to give a scientific description of this curious "Lusas 
natura", but it is certainly the rarest thing we have seen for a long time.
