The Hannibal Journal December 13, 1849
Sentenced. -- Peter Leonard, the precocious youth who robbed the jewelry store 
of Mr. W. Cohen, of this city, was sentenced to two years imprisonment in the 
penetentiary, at the late session of the Marion Circuit Court.  He was taken 
to his port of destination a few days ago, and on his arrival in the 
metropolis, was assigned to his comfortable quarters in the State rope factory.
