Heather, a citizen of this county, put an end to his existence on Sunday evening last, the 19th instant, by blowing his brains out with a pistol. Mr. H. was unmarried, and resided at the house of Mr. Husky, six miles east of this place. During the day the rash act was committed, he was observed to be unusually cheerful. Towards night he retired to his room; some time after, the family were alarmed by the report of a pistol, and on going to the room, found him lying on the floor, lifeless. The ball entered his right eye, and blew off a considerable portion of the upper part of his head, Mr. Heather was about 24 years of age. -- Palmyra Whig.
