The Hannibal Journal May 18, 1848
"In Union There is Strength"

The undersigned Whigs of Mason Township, for the purpose of aiding in 
affecting a re-union of the Whig party, of Marion County, recommend to the 
Whigs of this Township, the propriety of holding a meeting of the Whigs of the 
Township, at the City Hall, on Saturday the 27th day of May, at 4 o'clock 
P.M., to appoint delegates to the County Convention, to be held in Palmyra, on 
the 5th day of June next.
