The Hannibal Journal, Thursday, March 29, 1849
OBITUARY. -- Departed this life in this city, on Sunday the 4th inst., Charles 
C. Carter, Esq., in the 60th year of his age.  The deceased was born in 
Amherst county, Va., from whence he moved to this State a few years ago...



Additional Comments:
The obit continues with general report of his good character.  It does mention 
that he was a husband and father, but does not name relatives.
