Hannibal Journal, Thursday, March 4, 1847
Death of Lieut. Lackland. -- On the evening of the 27th December, Lt. B. F. 
Lackland, of Capt. Dent's Company, died in Santa Fe. -- He was buried, at his 
request, by Maj. Clark's battallion, the Rangers acting as escort, his own 
company not being in Santa Fe.
