The Hannibal Journal, Thursday, September 6, 1849
OBITUARY

Departed this life, August 30th, half past 3 o'clock P.M., Mrs. Mary B. 
Miller, wife of Mr. Thomas S. Miller, of Hannibal, Mo., in the 37th year of 
her age, in full prospect of a blessed immortality -- of her it may be said, 
in the language of an Apostle: -- "To live is Christ, but to die is gain."  
Mrs. Miller was the daughter of John and Margaret McKamie, formerly of Mercer 
county, Ky., where in her 14th year she was happily brought to a knowledge of 
the truth...

Additional Comments:
The remainder of the obit had the usual text telling that she was a good 
Christian person, wife, and mother.
