Monroe City News   Thursday, 5 December 1878
Melson-At her residence in  Marion  county,  at  8  ½  o'clock  Wednesday
morning, December 3d, Mrs. Sallie Melson, wife of Samuel  J.  Melson,  of
consumption, aged about 30 years. Deceased  leaves  a  husband  and  five
small children to mourn her loss, who  have  our  warmest  sympathies  in
their affliction.
