The Hannibal Journal, Thursday, June 15, 1848
MARRIED,
In this city, on the 13th inst., by the Rev. E. M. Marvin, Mr. C. L. Elgin, to 
Miss Elizabeth Farmer, all of this city.

With the above announcement came a bountiful supply of the Printer's only fee, 
the wedding cake.  Our Devil says he is no Poet -- but wishes that all the 
days of the happy pair may glide as sweetly down the declivity of life, as did 
the precious morsels down his grateful thorax.
