Surnames: GRIFFIN KING Submitter: Tom Gunning (tjgunning@ameritech.net) Date: 16 Mar 1999 Looking for a link to Thomas & Margaret Griffin. They immigrated in abt 1847 from County Kerry, Ireland and are believed to have settled in Missouri where they had other family. In 1860, their daughter Mary E married Martin King in Boston, MA. 1920 census data on two of Mary E's daughters listed Missouri as place of birth for their mother, but was listed in the 1880 census, for Mary E in MA, as born in Ireland. As a result, I believe that Mary E spent her youth in Missouri with her family, but I have not located the family in the 1850 census, as yet.. Surnames: MADDEN PORTERFIELD CLARK JENNINGS Submitter: Taleah (Wilkinson) Date: 11 Mar 1999 March 12, 1999 Thursday I'm searching for information on my Great Great Grandparents William and Mary Ann Clark Madden, I have a birth and death date on William but do not have any dates on Mary Ann; except it is believed that both William and Mary Ann was possible born in Ohio. The dates that I have for William Madden is b. 1802, d. 1882, do not have place or state either one for the death. This is what I have on their children: Sarah (Sally) b. 1845 in Ill.; d.abt. 1932 in Dade Co.Mo. Jane Waddle b. 1847 in Ill.; d. abt. 1934 in Dade Co. Mo.; married John Porterfield in July 1965 in Ill. Thomas b. 1855 in Ill. still living in 1936, in Everett, Wash. Tressa Lee b. abt. 1860 died abt. 1960?, was living last in Snyder married a Stephenson Ann b. abt. 1861 died abt. 1875 Maggie b. abt. 1863 died ? married a Jennings and was living in Prague Oklahoma in Oct. of 1936. Charles Albert b. June 1, 1864/65 supposedly in Saline, Mo., according to obit., I think that is possible that it should have read Saline Co., Mo. as his sister Sarah and brother Tom was found to be living in Chariton, Co. Mo. in 1870. When Charles, or Charlie died in Oct. of 1936 it listed his sister Tress Lee as living in Snyder, Mo. but I've not been able to find out what county this is in. It also stated that he came to Dade County, Mo. in about 1886. I did find his oldest sister Sarah listed as Sarah Gallentin in one of the Dade County newspapers, which means that she had married a second time before coming to Dade County, as I wasn't able to place her marrying a Gallentin here; but that does put at least that one sister here when Charles was suppose to have arrived. I don't know for sure when his sister Jane arrived but she did come here and basically raised her children here, and lived the rest of her life her till her death just before her brother Charles. I don't know if his sister Maggie who married a Jennings ever lived here or not, according to the family her husband was some how related to Sarah's first husband who was William Jennings; and raised her family in Oklahoma. I have not been able to find Maggie in any of the books here such as census, marriages, etc. Tress Lee was not suppose to ever have lived here in Dade County, Mo. she was suppose to have married and raised her family in and around Snyder, Mo. according to the family. I have know idea where William and Mary Clark Madden ended up at after they left Ill., all my Grandmother told me that she thought her Grandparents lived in Northern Missouri when her father and the younger of the children was born. She said that he was the youngest child, and that her Aunt Tressa Lee, Maggie, and Ann was all about his age, she didn't know why Sarah (Sally), and Jane was so much older, she wasn't sure about the age of his brother Tom, except he was older; what I got from the Chariton Co. Mo. 1870 census was abt. 1855 for his birthdate. I would like to find dates on Mary Ann, and a birthdate, death date and a place of birth and death on her and William both.
