Robertson and Maremna, his wife, Edmund Stinson and Margaret, his wife, Stephen Howard and Sarah, his wife, and Martha Robertson of the one part and Samuel Legg of the other part Witnesseth that the aforesaid heirs for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty Dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these pres- ents do bargain sell and confirm unto the said Samuel Legg his heirs and assigns forever certain parcels or tracts of land situate and being in the county and state aforesaid being the West half of the SE qr. of Section 28, Township 45, Range 16. Also the North half of the East half of the South East qr. of Section 28, Township 45, Range 16 North of the base line and west of the fifth principal meridian con- taining by estimation one hundred and twenty acres together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging to have and to hold by the said Samuel Legg his heirs and assigns forever and the afore- said heirs do hereby bind themselves their heirs Executors Administra- tors, etc., to defend the right and title of the aforesaid tracts of land unto the said Samuel Legg, his heirs and assigns against the claims of all and every person whatsoever. County of Morgan ) Be it remembered that on the 25th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty five before me a Justice of the Peace within and for the County aforesaid personally came Waid Howard and Nancy his wife, William Robertson and Mary his wife, James Robertson and Cintha his wife, Edmund Stinson and Margaret his wife, Stephen Howard and Sarah his wife, and Martha Robertson all personally known to me to be the persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing instrument of writing as having executed the same and severally acknowledged the same to be their act and deed for the purpose therein mentioned they the said Nancy Howard, Mary Robertson, Maremna Robertson and Mary Robertson, Cintha Robertson and Margaret Stinson, Sarah Howard being by me first made acquainted with the con- tents thereof and Examined Separate and apart from their said Husbands to be whether they executed the said deed and relinquished their Dower to the lands and tenements therein mentioned voluntarily freely and without compulsion or undue influence of their said husbands acknow- ledged and declared that they executed the said deed and relinquished their dower in the said lands and tenements therin mentioned volun- tarily freely and without compulsion or undue influence of their said Husbands Taken and certified the day and year first above written.
