FINAL RITES HELD FOR CRASH VICTIM-CLARKSBURG-Funeral services were held Sunday 
at the Clarksburg Baptist Church for Vernon Lee Jenkins, 18, with the Rev. H. 
J. Hood officiating.  Burial will be in the Clarksburg Masonic Cemetery. Mr. 
Jenkins was fatally injured in an automobile accident near Knobtown in Jackson 
County Thursday and died in a Kansas City hospital about four hours after the 
accident.  Mr. Jenkins was born in Hadam, Kan. January 22, 1935, the son of 
Mr. and Mrs. Williams Jenkins, but came to Clarksburg with his parents at an 
early age and received his schooling here.  He ws a member of the Baptist 
Church.  He had been living with an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Graham 
of Raytown, for the last three weeks and working with his uncle, a painting 
contractor.  Survivors include his parents, two brothers, Larry and Charles, 
two sisters, Lareda and Evelyn, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M. 
E. Jenkins of Clarksburg.
