Smith of the county aforesaid and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth That the said Edmund Ash and Mary Susan his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty five Dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Oliver C. Smith his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of Land situated being in the county of Monroe in the State of Missouri It being the South East quarter of the North West quarter of section six in Township fifty five Range twelve containing fifty seven acres and ninety six Hundredths of an acre more or less Together with all and singular the appertenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Oliver C. Smith his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof the said Edmund Ash and Mary Susan his wife party of the first part have hereunto set their hands and Seals the day and year first above written. Edmund Ash (Seal) Mary Susan Ash (Seal) State of Missouri County of Monroe Be it remembered that on this 28th day of March A.D. 1850 before me a Justice of the peace within and for the county aforesaid personally came Edmund Ash and Mary Susan his wife both personally Known to me to be the persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing Instrument of writing as having Executed the same and severly acknowledged the same to be their act and Deed for the purposes therein mentioned the said Mary Susan Ash being by me first made acquainted with the contents thereof and Examined separate and apart from her hsuband whether she Executed said Deed and relinquished her Dower to the lands and tenements therein mentioned voluntarily freely and without compulsion or undue influence of her husband acknowledge and declared that she Executed the said Deed and relinquished her Dower in the said lands and tenements therein mentioned voluntarily freely and without compulsion or undue influence of her husband.
