Brown & wife to W. H. H. Palmer Deed Know all men by these presents that Armsted Brown and Serelda J. Brown the wife of said Armsted Brown of the County of Monroe in the State of Missouri have this day for and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred dollars to the said Armsted Brown in had paid by William H. H. Palmer of the County of Randolph in the State of Missouri Granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said William H. H. Palmer the following described tracts or parcels of land situate in the County of Monroe in the state of Missouri, That is to say, the west half of the North West quarter of section twenty nine (29) of Township fifty five (55) of Range Twelve (12) with the exception of Nine acres deeded to Hugh Miller by John D. Stevens and wife, and further described as follows, commencing at the South East corner of the South West quarter of the North West quarter of said Section from thence North with the line of said quarter to a Locust tree one hundred and ninety six yardes from thence West with a fence one hundred and fifty nine yards to a rock, From thence in a South West direction with Millers line to the South line of said Forty and thence East to the place of beginning. The said Parties of the first part also by these presents Grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said parties of the second part a portion of the North West quarter of South West quarter of said section commencing on the North line of said quarter at the South West corner of Hugh Millers nine acre Tract thence in a South west direction to a birch tree at the Ford of Mud creek to south bank, thence up the south bank of said creek to the section line between twenty nine (29) and thirty (30) thence North to the half mile corner on the west side of section Twenty nine (29) thence East to the place of beginning. To have and to hold all the rights Privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said William H. H. Palmer his heirs and assigns for himself his heirs executors and administrators, To warrant and defend the title to the premises hereby conveyed against the claim of every person whatsoever. In witness whereof we have hereto subscribed our names and affixed our seals this 20th day of December 1867. Brown his wife who are personally known to the undersigned a Justice of the Peace within and for said County to be the persons whose names are subscribed to the within deed as parties thereto this day appeared before me and acknowledged that they executed and delivered the same as their voluntary act and deed for the uses and purposes therein contained. And the said Serelda J. Brown being by me made acquainted with the contents of said deed acknowledged on examination apart from her said husband that she executed the same and relinquishes her dower in the real estate therein mentioned freely and without compulsion or undue influence of her said husband.
