Know all men by these presents that Augustin Smith of Monroe County and State 
of Missouri, For divers good Causes and Considerations thereunto moving 
especially for the consideration of five Dollars Received by me full 
satisfaction of Oliver C. Smith of County and State aforesaid, I have remised 
released and forever quit-claimed and by these presents for myself, my heirs 
Executors & Administrators Justly and absolutely remise, release, and forever 
Quit Claimed unto the said Oliver C. Smith & to his heirs and assigns forever 
all such right and tittle as I the said Augustin Smith have or ought to have 
in and to a certain tract or parcel of land situate in Monroe County and 
described as follows The North West qr. of the South West and the North East 
qr. of the South West quarter all in Section No. 21 (twenty-one) in Township 
55 (fifty five) of Range No. 12 (twelve) West - To have and to hold the above 
released premises unto him the said Oliver C. Smith his heirs and assigns to 
their only proper use and behoof forever -- so that neither I the said 
Augustine Smith or any other person in my name and behalf shall or will 
hereafter claim or demand any right or tittle to the premises or any part 
thereof, but they and every of them shall by these presents be excluded, and 
forever barred, And also in adition to the above real property I relinquish & 
bequeath all personal property now in my possession such as bed, & beding & 
tools of whatever description they may be unto the said Oliver C. Smith to his 
heirs and assigns forever -- the above deed or instrument of writing to take 
effect at the my Death and also to remain subject to any alteration or 
disposition that I may hereafter see proper to make previous to my Death -- In 
testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal, this 8th day of 
September In the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred & fifty three.

Be it remembered that Augustine Smith who is personally known to the 
undersigned Justice of the peace to be the same person whose name is 
subscribed to the foregoing deed as a party thereto, this day appeared before 
me in Monroe County aforesaid and acknowledged that he executed the said deed 
voluntarily for the uses and purposes therein expressed.  In witness whereof I 
have hereunto set my hand affixed my seal This 8th day of September A.D. 1853.
