Monroe City News  6 December 1879
Squire Melson [John Dent Melson] issued a writ of  attachment  last  week
for Miss Martha Powell, and having given the necessary bond  before  Rev.
L. Rush, was permitted to hold the lady so  attached  for  an  indefinite
period. The lady is highly esteemed and so is the 'Squire. We  wish  them
both unlimited happiness and  hope  that  the  attachment  may  never  be
dissolved.
