McLeod, leaving a bereaved husband, four small children and a numerous circle of relations and friends to mourn her premature death. The deceased suffered long and patiently by that fatal disease, consumption, being confined to her bed twelve months ere death relieved her from her sufferings. Neither medical skill nor the devoted attention of kind friends could arrest this fell disease; conscious of this, and that life was drawing to a close, she expressed her sincere resignation to the will of Him who doeth all things for the best. A devoted and practical christian through life, strengthened by the consoling rites of the Catholic church, she calmly passed from life to that bourne from which none return, with an abiding hope of a blessed immortality through the Infinite merits of a crucified Savior.
