Five children, one boy and four girls, survive. His wife died in 1883. Mr. Elliott was quite a noted man in his way. He was born in England and came to this country about 54 years ago, settling in Indiana and working in the coal mines. About 40 years ago he came to this country and settled on the farm where be died. He first crossed the Atlantic in a sailing vessel, and made two subsequent trips to his old home. He was a member of the church of England and never joined any church in this country. His son,Grant, is in Nevada. The four daughters are Mesdames James Douthit, Finis Campbell, Sarah E. Alburty, the latter of Washington. An unmarried daughter, Miss Alice, lived with him home.-Sarcoxie Record.
