William Oliver Agee was born March 10, 1816 in TN to parents Matthew Agee and Mary Coates Agee. That family migrated to Osage Co., Missouri, where they were farmers. William Oliver Agee marrried Mary Elizabeth Verdot March 25, 1855 in Osage Co., Missouri. Her parents were Peter and Mary Saraphine Muelot Verdot who had come over from Verdeau, France. William and Mary Agee migrated from Osage Co. to Greeley Co., Kansas; Vernon Co., Missouri; Newton Co., AR.; and finally settled in Dallas Co., Missouri at least by 1880 where they again were farmers. They were residents of RedTop, Missouri where they finished raising their children. William Oliver Agee died August 7, 1881 leaving Mary to continue farming to raise the children. William's first wife Hannah Miranda Thornton had passed away January 3, 1854 in Osage Co., Missouri leaving him a widower with seven children. Mary Elizabeth Agee applied for and received Homestead Land from the government in 1887 where she successfully finished raising all of the children and stayed on the land until she died December 26, 1926. She was a very hardworking woman. Many of her children stayed in the area to raise their families. Nancy Jane Ramsey Norris, Goddard, Kansas Third great granddaughter
