This is a photograph of Mary Josepha Lock *Bescheinen Hoffman - daughter of 
Johan 'John' Hubert Lock and Elisabeth Kremer *Lock. She was born at Loose 
Creek, MO on 14 May 1874. She first married Henry Joseph Hubert Bescheinen - 
son of Heinrich Matthias Bescheinen and Anna Gertrude Scheulen *Bescheinen 
Kamus. He was born at Loose Creek, MO on 03 May 1863. He and Mary moved to 
Grandin, Carter County, MO about 1915. He died 06 December 1917 at Grandin, 
Carter Co, MO and is buried in St Benedict Catholic Cemetery, Doniphan, Ripley 
County, Missouri. After Henry died, Mary Josepha married George A. Hoffman of 
Morrison County, Minnesota. She moved to Minnesota and died there on 25 August 
1948 at Little Falls, Morrison Co, MN.

Additional Comments:
She was my Great-GrandMother. I descend from her daughter, Gertrude Johanna 
Jennie Bescheinen *Whalen and her husband, Martin Henry Whalen. Their 
daughter, was my Mother, Margaret Josephine Whalen *Jackson, my Father was 
Charles Burton Jackson.
