Gen. & Historical Society ==================================================================== Absher Cemetery T23, R15, S30 Route D, south 5 miles to D-863 intersection The first person buried at this place was Herbert, the infant son of John Mathew Absher and Parsitty Green Absher. The infant died in 1895, and his grave has a marker. A fieldstone marks the grave of another of their children, John. John Mathew Absher (1867-1958) and Parsitty Absher (1870-1952) are buried at Thornfield. They homesteaded the Absher farm, which is now a part of the Dan Donley farm, and Mr. Donley has fenced off the old cemetery grounds. There are eight graves with markers, and three graves marked with fieldstones.
