Gen. & Historical Society ==================================================================== Baker Cemetery T23, R15, S33 County Road 865 to D863, right about 3 miles The cemetery lies on property once owned by the late J. Herbert Baker who inherited the land from his father, John C. Baker, who had purchased the property from Sam Lane around 1913. In 1971 the present owners, Willis and Lucille Donley and Ray Donley, excepted the cemetery from the property by deed. Numerous burial plots have disappeared, but fieldstones remain in place at twelve graves. In addition there are fourteen graves with headstones. The cemetery grounds are fenced and a high, arched gate, with the name cast in metal, marks the entrance. The names on the grave markers are: Baker, J.C., 23 Dec 1865-4 Mar 1916 Baker, Rachel Rebecca, wife of J. C., 11 Aug 1871-1 May 1936 Barnett, Levi, enrolled 18 Oct 1861 in Co. F Phelps Reg. MO Vols. Inf., discharged 12 May 1862, died 22 Sep 1880, age 78yr. 1 mo. 16days; On this same stone is the name, Forrest, Matilda, 1 Oct 1847-8 Dec 1875 Haskins, Mary M., 25 Aug 1861-13 Feb 1897 Haskins, Mary A., 15 Mar 1836-1 Apr 1884 Haskins, George W., born and died 6 Feb 1887 Haskins, Beulah F., 19 Sep 1922-16 Feb 1928 B., (initial only) son of Margaret and W. M. Holt, born and died 29 Oct 1877 Holt, Martha, daughter of Margaret and W. M. Holt, 10 Dec 1882-3 Oct 1884 Pippin, 1892-1912 Pippin, Harriet, 1896-1912, both names on the same stone Turley, Margaret, wife of B. F. Turley, 8 Aug 1836-15 Oct 1879
