Used by permission dated 28 Sep 2004. ==================================================================== Croney Cemetery T24, R11, s33 Highway 181 north to 172, right on 365, left on 386 to end of road The cemetery lies on the west bank of the North Fork River. Among the first settlers in the area were John Wesley and Margaret Croney. In 1928, the grounds were deeded, by John R. Gunter, Sarah Gunter, H. C. House and Dora Gunter House, to Rainbow Springs Resort and Fisheries, a Missouri corporation. The grounds, which had never been deeded for cemetery, were then set aside for a graveyard by the corporation. The grounds are fenced and cleared of brush. There are eighteen fieldstone markers, nine inscribed markers and several un marked graves.
