Dora Cemetery
T24, R11, S7
Highway 181 to junction with 279 at Dora

This small burial ground takes its name from the Dora community,  which
dates back to 1878 when Anton Fischer settled here and  opened  a  post
office, which he named for his daughter.

Earlier land owners before Fischer were James K. P. and Margaret Dobbs,
and later Nellie Maupin. The cemetery now lies on land owned by  J.  R.
and Florence J. Hightower.

The plot is fenced and there are apparently  no  unknown  burials.  The
inscribed stones are:

FISCHER, Anton, 1834-1897
FISCHER, Lucy M., 1838-1887
FISCHER, Oliver H., 1883-1887 (these first three are on one stone)
FISCHER, George B., 13 Feb 1867-7 Dec 1895
MAUPIN, Margaret, 15 Feb 1813-21 Jan 1880
