Fletcher/Davis Burial Ground
T24, R15, S26
Route Z to Z830, west 1 ½ miles

This small burial ground takes its  name  from  the  surnames  of  early
Settlers. The land is now owned by Jim and Barbara Loftis.

Tradition says a young man by the name of Davis "came home"  during  the
Civil War. Soldiers approached, and the young man tried to run away, was
pursued and shot. He was the first burial. Other burials are:

DUNEGAN, M. A., (Manervy Adamontine Loftis, daughter of 
Logan Harrison Loftis). 18 Jan 1857-2 Feb 1921
DUNEGAN, J. K. (John Kemper, son of Alfred J. and 
Louanza Patrick Dunegan) 20 Apr 1857-10 Oct 1927
FLETCHER, Phinine (Davis) 1864-1887
FLETCHER, Bill, 1852-1923
NEWSOM, W. M., 11 May 1889, age 69 yr., 3mo., 20 da.,
NEWSOM, Oelinda, wife of W. M., 20 Jul 1877, age 51 YR.
