Among early settlers here were the John Simmons and David Baker families. The cemetery name comes from the only remaining engraved stone marking the grave of the infant son of Jimmy Green and his wife who lived over the line in Fulton County, Arkansas. Ruby Fore, who lives in the area, recalls being told that the infant was brought to this place for burial as it was an established cemetery. All evidence of burials here has disappeared with the exception of one stone with this inscription: Noble GREEN, Sept. 27, 1897- Oct. 30, 1897
