Humbyrd Cemetery
T24, R16, S26
Route JJ to 920, left 1 ½ 

This cemetery lied atop a hill on  a  level  spot  on  the  old  Humbyrd
homeplace, now owned by Jimmy Fox. Alma Haskins, a  Humbyrd  descendant,
supplied information about the old burial ground. She and  her  husband,
Basil, have reclaimed the cemetery from overgrowth, have fenced  it  and
uprighted stones, and now take care of  the  mowing.  All  the  engraved
stones are for persons inter-related to the Humbyrd family.  Interesting
to note are the different spellings for the surnames. There  are  twelve
graves marked with fieldstones only.
