In 1928. Levi and Frances Krider deeded the grounds to trustees V. H. Kasrning, F. E. Rippee, and J. T. Palmer for a free public cemetery. Approximately one acre was set aside by the Kriders. The grounds are fenced. There are some unmarked graves, but three stones mentioned in a survey in 1972 by William Yates were not found.
