Oak Mound Cemetery
T23, R11, S9
County Road N354, continue as road becomes KK, 4 miles

This cemetery is located in an early settled community once served by  a
post office and by Oak Mound school, now consolidated  with  Bakersfield
District.

Early settlers Riley (Rile) Bond and his wife Sue, granted  a  homestead
here in 1882, donated land for the burial ground. Seventeen  graves  are
marked by fieldstones, including those of the  Bonds.  There  were  some
forty-three inscribed stones  at  the  time  of  the  survey,  with  the
earliest date being 1900. The cemetery  is  fenced.  Anderson  and  Nell
Simpson now own the land surrounding the cemetery.
