Early land owners here were Alvin and Martha Owens, James and Cealy Owens, and James and Rody Russell. These persons sold land on which the cemetery lies to Samuel and Samantha Riley and John and Emaline Bell in January 1882. Other parcels from other persons (Clayborn and Matilda Riley, A. and Martha McCleary, Isaac and Mary L. Hicks, R. L. and Octavia Luna, Larkin Russell, J. W. and Louisa Bird, and M. and Emily McGinis) were acquired by purchase or quit deeds, also in 1882. This same year, John and Emaline Bell and Samuel and Samantha Riley worked out their land deals by quit claims and purchase. The land on which the cemetery lies on now owned by Donald and Darrell Bell. It has been said that the cemetery was also known as Walden, but Orville Bushong, credit with this statement, said he did not report this information. At the time of this survey, sixteen fieldstone markers were counted, but evidence was seen in the encroaching cropland of many others having been in place at one time. At the time of the survey, there were twenty-one inscribed stones, with the earliest, 1878, marked the grave of an infant. ALTISER, Ople G., daughter of S. H. and D.
