Trekell Casa Grande, AZ 85222 (The following text comes from a flyer on file at the Gainesville, MO courthouse.) Harvey and Harriet Sheppard set aside land for this cemetery on their homestead in the mid-1800's. The land is presently owned by Agene Hawkins and Adrian Hawkins. Their father, the late Glenn Hawkins, excepted the burial ground by deed in 1917. The cemetery is fenced and is located in the center of a pasture. There are two fieldstones and two graves with no markers. The earliest of the twelve inscribed stones is dated 1879. Notes from the submitter: Harvey Sheppard and his wife, Harriet Luna, first appear on the Ozark Co. Census in 1870. They are known to have arrived later than January 19, 1865. He purchased 160 acres there on May 1, 1875 and an additional 40 on November 13, 1885. He and his wife had at least 9 children who lived into adulthood.
