Gen. & Historical Society ==================================================================== Welch Cemetery T23, R13, S18 Highway 95 to 910, west one mile The Welch Cemetery dates from after the Civil War and lies on land that belonged to William E. and Rebecca Welch, who homesteaded the land around the cemetery. Their home was on Pondfork. The cemetery is excepted by deed, and Connie and Ethel Jones now own the land surrounding the burial grounds. Several Civil War veterans are buried in the plot. There are two fieldstones, and at the time of this survey, fifty-four inscribed stones. The earliest dated burial was a youth, Mary H. Peacock (1853- 1868).
