B. Latham, formerly of Galena, Ill., was murdered in a drinking house in Keokuk, by a man named McKingsley, the keeper of the house. The difficulty occurred near the bar, and originated from a misunderstanding about a game of cards which they had been engaged playing -- McKingsley drew a knife and stabbed Latham three times in the breast, causing his death almost instantly. Soon after the perpetration of the murder, McKinsley procured a horse and made his escape. -- Mo. Repub.
