OBITUARIES

Charles Hunter

  Charles Hunter, about 60 years old, passed away at 3 o'clock this morning at 
his home, 2401 East Twelfth street. 
  Mr. Hunter was born at Springfield, Mo., May 11, 1875 the son of the late 
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hunter.  He was united with the Christian church at 
Springfield when he was a young man.  Mr. Hunter served in the Spanish-
American war. 
  He served for several years as a blacksmith at the Missouri Pacific shops in 
Sedalia, also at Horton, Kas., for the Rock Island railroad. 
  In 1904 he was married to Miss Emma Greer at Sacramento, Calif., formerly of 
the Longwood vicinity.  To this union were born three children, Mrs.[Mr.] 
Theodore Hunter, of Sparks, Kas.; Mrs. Ralph Richardson of Sedalia, and James 
Hunter of Rulo, Neb. 
   He is survived by his widow and three children and the following sisters, 
Mrs. Ernest Greer, Hughesville, and Mrs. N. L. Looney of Silitz, Ore.
  Funeral services will be held at the Gillespie Funeral Home at 2:30 o'clock 
Saturday afternoon with the Rev. A. W. Kokendoffer, pastor of the First 
Christian church, officiating. 
  Music will be in charge of members of the First Christian church choir.  
Interment will be in Crown Hill cemetery. 
  Pall bearers will be friends and members of the Spanish-American War 
Veterans.
