The census is dated June 1st, 1900, Phelps County, Arlington Township/Newburg Village. No. 160 A 88 Sheet No. 1, Enumeration District 99. Line 66: F.W. Kibler, Head, W, M, Age 47 - Born 1853. States he was born in In/BLACK LINE, his father born in Wales, and his mother born in PA. • F. W. = Fredric W. Kibler (My great great grandfather). Born: Oswego, Kosicusko, Indiana May 15, 1853. Died Nov. 30, 1923 East St. Louis, Ill. • Fredric's parents are believed to be Philip & Margaret Kibler based on census found with family in Ottuma (Center Township), Wappello, Iowa, June 1870. Possible brother Ezra W. Kibler. Line 67: M.E. Kibler, Wife, W, F, Age 41 - Born Nov. 1858. States she was born in Io/BLACK LINE, her father born in Ohio, her mother born in Kentucky. • Birth name: Melissa Ellen Fisher, born Mahaska, Prairie Township, Iowa. Born Nov. 4, 1858, Mahaska, Iowa. Died: April 20, 1923, East St. Louis, Ill. • She is listed as an pioneer. Source: Proud Mahaska 1843-1900 Fisher, Mellissa, E. , farmer, Sec. 16 P.O. Agricola. • Her parents were Carey Fisher & Elizabeth (Allen) Fisher. The family moved from Parke Co. Indiana. Melissa was the only sibling born in Mahaska. • The Fisher line goes back to George Fisher. Line 68: W.E. Kibler, Son, W, M, Age 14 – Born Dec. 1885. States he was born in I/BLACK LINE, his father Indiana, his mother Iowa. • Birth name: William E. Kibler. Born: 1886? Ottuma, Iowa. Died: March 31, 1965, Washington Park, Ill. • He would be my great uncle. • He married Bertha Davis Line 68: J.E. Kibler, Daughter, W, F, Age 12 – Born July 1888. States she was born in I/BLACK LINE, her father born Indiana, her mother Iowa. • Birth name: Julia Etta Kibler (my great grandmother). Born July 1988. Died: June, 1965, Palm Beach County, Florida. • She 1st married Edward Buhrmaster and had one child, my grandfather, Clifton Harry Burhmaster. He was born Nov. 26, 1908 in Missouri, possibly Lebanon. • After Edward’s death Nov. 13, 1926 Julia Etta married Fred (Fritz) Simmons. • Family stories indicate she and her sister Ethel May were involved in some silent films, though his has not been confirmed. Line 69: E.M. Kiber, Daughter, W, F, Age 7 – Born 1892. States she was born in I/BLACK LINE, her father born Indiana, her mother Iowa. • Birth name: Ethel May Kibler. Born: 1892. Died: 1894, Anna, Illinois • She married Nick Stephenson. • She would be my great aunt. • Again, family stories indicate she and Julia Etta were involved in some silent films.
