Obituary of Martha Ann Beezley Martha Ann Beezley, daughter of the late John Wesley and Ellen Gravatt passed away at her home in St. James, Mo., February 12, 1955. She was born near Steelville, Miss- ouri, September 30, 1870, being at the time of her passing, 84 years, 4 months and 12 days of age having lived her entire life in the vicinity of Steelville and St. James. On February 12, 1893, she was married to Joel A. Beezley. In later years they were commonly known to a great many people as Uncle Jode and Aunt Matt. To this union two daughters and four sons were born. Her husband and the daughters and one son preceded her in death. Surviving are Floy E. of St. James, Arlie A. of Steelville and Jewel H. of Rolla, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. T. L. Morrison of West Plains, Missouri. She contributed in a large way to the rearing and welfare of several nieces and nephews. Aunt Matt had been a member of the chruch of God for about fifty years, living a good consistent christian life, being active in the church and church work. Hence, the outstanding life and activities of a personality thus lived and de- voted. The funeral service was conduct- ed at the Church of God, Monday, February 14, 1955 at 2:00 P.M. The Rev. Jack R. Anderson officiated assisted by the Rev. E. D. Johnson, Meridian, Mississippi; Dr. J. A. Mor- rison, Anderson, Indiana and Dr. Earl L. Martin, Anderson, Indiana.
