John H. Carroll Obituary Mr. John Harrison Carroll was born Jna. 5, 1890, in Gas- conade County. He lived five years in Shannon County and later moved to St. James. Mr. Carroll was married to Miss Jewell Blankenship in 1920. To this union three chil- dren were born, two living. They are Walter Carroll, aged 5 years, and Eugean Caroll, aged 1 years. Mr. Carroll also had two children by his first wife. They are Mrs. Martha Neice and husband of St. Louis and Miss Flora Carroll of St. Louis. After eight weeks illness Mr. Carroll passed away on Feb. 16th, 1928, aged 38 years and 22 days. Mr. Carroll leaves his wife, four children, a step-son, Bert Henry, a mother, Mrs. Carroll, one sister, Mrs. Lena Bunce and husbanr of St. James; two half sisters, Mrs. S. B. Beck, of St. James, and Mrs. Elisa Whan. of Pacific; three half-brothers, George Carroll of Springfield, Jim Carroll of Lebanon, and Tom Carroll of St. James; and a number of other relatives and friends to mourn their loss. Mr. Carroll told his daugh- ter just before he died that he was ready to die. The funeral service was con- ducted by Rev. Marion C. Cox at the Church of God on Satur- day, Feb. 18th, at 2:00 p. m. Lesson text Matt 28. 19-20--- Subject, The end of the world. After the funeral service the body was buried in the Mason- ic cemetery. While I view thee--wounded, grieving.
