Obituary, Rolla Daily News, Friday, August 31, 1979: Jess Chambers, Route 5, died yesterday, August 30, 1979, at Phelps County Memorial Hospital. He was 65. Born at Veto, Mr. Chambers was a lifelong resident of this area. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force in World War II and a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Edythe and a daughter, Sharon Earl, both of Rolla; two brothers, Thomas Chambers of Vichy and James Chambers of Neosho; four sisters, Della McKenzie and Dessie John(s) of St. James, Nell Moreland of Belle and Virginia McLarning of Edgar Springs; and three grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at the Null and Son Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Reverend Lee Roy Sadler officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery.
