Rolla Daily News, Rolla, MO Wednesday, May 19, 1954: "Mrs. Emma Light Dies at Home here" Mrs. Emma Jane Light, Route 2, Rolla, the widow of the late David L. Light and a native of Phelps County, died at the home of a son, Nile Light, early yesterday. She was 76 years old. Born in Phelps County, May 14, 1878, she had spent nearly all of her life in the immediate area. Survivors include five sons, Timothy of Glencoe, MO, James L. and Nile of Rolla, George E. of Brentwood, and Randell E. of Vichy; two stepsons, Charles E. of Pomona, Calif, and David M. of Tuscon, Ariz; one step-daughter, Mrs. J. F. Schmitt of Brentwood; and one sister, Mrs. Lula Conner of Oklahoma. A number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. She was a longtime member of the Macedonia Baptist Church where the funeral services were held at 2 p.m. tomorrow. The Rev. Lee Roy Sadler will officiate and burial will take place in the Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of the Null and Sons Funeral Home.
