The Rolla New Era Rolla, Missouri January 11, 1896 Died at his home on Little Piney, near Yancy Mills, Phelps County, on November 26, 1895, Mr. JAMES LANE, aged 63 years, 8 months and 14 days. He was born in Putnam County, Ind., March 12, 1832. His death was caused by typhoid fever and neuralgia of the breast. It makes our hearts ache to give up our dear father, relatives or friends, but God knows what is best. Just before his death he had been praying, and his last words were "God is with me." What a comfort to the bereaved widow and children. The deceased leaves two children -- GEORGE W. LANE and MARY J. KING -- two sisters and one brother, Mrs. RUHAMA ZIMMERMAN, Mrs. ABBIE GILL WISHON and Mr. PLEASANT LANE, who will miss his kind welcome. Let this thought comfort the surviving relatives and friends. All his afflictions are over; his trust was in the Lord and He is able to keep that which is committed to him. His remains were laid to rest in the Beaver Cemetery on Thursday, November 28, 1895. We miss thee from our home, father, We miss thee from thy place; A shadow o'er our lives is cast, We miss the sunshine of thy face, We miss thy kind and willing hand, Thy fond and earnest care; Our home is dark without thee, We miss thee everywhere. -- Mrs. Mary J. King, Yancy Mills, Mo., Jan. 4, 1896.
