Again has the silent visitor entered our little valley and this time has called 
away a grand mother who was loved and respected by all who knew her. 
Mrs. JUDITH SHATTUCK was born October 15, 1816, died Sept. 23, 1891, was 74 
years, 11 months and 18 days old.

She was married to S.N. SHATTUCK in 1834.  They lived together 45 years. S.N  
SHATTUCK was born December 1, 1810, and died June 6, 1879.  They had nine 
children.  Three are dead and six are living.  GEORGE is in Wisconsin, B.F. is 
in Ohio, MARTHA is in Indian Territory, ELIZABETH is in Kansas, D.C. and ELIZA 
are here in Missouri.  Grandma was very energetic in her younger days but of 
late years her health had been failing and she gave up very reluctantly, but 
all the summer passed she had been very feeble and on the above date she had to 
yield the cold hand of death and we laid her in the silent city of the dead in 
the old church yard by the side of her companion with whom she lived, loved and 
toiled for forty-five years.

The funeral services were conducted by the writer, and here we record our last 
farewell to a good neighbor, a kind friend and an affectionate mother.
