William A. Snead, Edgar Springs Man died in his home: William Albert Snead well known resident of Edgar Springs passed away Saturday night at his home following a brief illness. Mr. Snead wad 60 years of age, born in Maries County on July 11, 1902. He spent some 19 years in St. Louis, then he moved to Edgar Springs, where he spent the past 23 years. Mr. Snead was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church, he served as deacon in the Sunday School Department. He was a Mason of the Equality Lodge No 497 in Newburg, Eastern Star and highter bodies of Masonic orders and Abou Ben Adam Shrine, Springfield, MO. Mr. Snead had been a Civil Service employee for 12 years at the Post Engineers, Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Surviving family is his widow, Mrs. Mildred Brookshire Snead: one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Snead, Lafayette, Louisiana, three grandchildren, Lana Jolaine and Randy Snead, his mother, Mrs. Ollie Murphy of Rolla, a brother, Earl Snead of Rolla and three sisters, Mrs. May Love and Mrs. Cyndia Hargis, both of St. Louis, MO and Mrs. Leah Denison, Rolla.

Services will be held at the Philadelphia Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Elvin Curtis, pastor, will be officiating. Paulbearers will be his nephews. Burial will be in the Rolla Cemetery. Mr. Snead will lie in state at the Null and Son Funeral Home tonight. Masonic services will be held at the Chapel at 8 p.m. Tuesday by the Equality Lodge no 497.
