Hannibal Journal, May 6, 1847
Death of Wm. Biggs. -- This old and honored citizen of Pike county died on the 
15th ult., in the 60th year of his age.  Mr. Biggs, was one of oldest citizens 
of Northern Missouri, having emigrated to this State 25 years ago.  He has 
frequently been a member of the State Legislature, and distinguished himself 
by his able advocacy of Whig principles.

His county has sustained, in his death, an irreparable loss.
