Sarah King, 1804-1852, wife of Joseph; White, David Field, 11 Sept. 1840-1, October 1847, m. Charles Joseph, 18 Nov. 1844-18, Feb. 1849, Thomas Quincy, 21 March 1828-6, Feb 1853, all sons of Joseph and Sarah White. This family lived in the southeast area of Buchanan County. They may be buried over the line in Platte county. 1/8/1998 Joyce VetterJoyce Vetter I am researching James Hoke who was married to Nancy Trowbridge. They are both buried in the Wilkerson Cemetery. When they came to Missouri with at least one child, Joseph L. Hoke. He married Mahala (Haley) Perkins. They are also buried in the Wilkerson cemetery. Buried next to these family members is a headstone with Viola E. Ryan b. 5/24/1911 d. 5/24/1911. I would like any info on these people. 1/8/1998 Andrew ShafferAndrew Shaffer I am searching for any info on Matilda C. Beagle and her ancestors. In a copy out of a county book sent to me by Phillips county, KS Historical society, it states she was married to my gggrandfather David Dodge in 1858. All it says about her is that she was from Pratt county, MO. Since there is no Pratt county, I assume it was a printing error and should have been Platt county, MO. Their children were Alice, Sophia, Martha (Mattie), George, Mary Anna, Charles, David Jr., and Minnie. David was a land attorney in Kansas. He was a law student at the land office of Vorhees and Vorhees in St. Joseph, MO. He first came to KS in February 1854 and took up the first claim of land in Leavenworth. His daughter, Mary Anna was my ggrandmother and was born Nov. 8, 1869 in Atchison county, KS. Any info on the Beagle family would be greatly appreciated. 1/8/1998 Barbara RobinsonBarbara Robinson The John Marshall Rogers family moved to Platte county where John and Sarah died after 1880 and are buried in Rogers cemetery. Is there a listing for this cemetery since a copy of this would probably answer a great many of my questions. I believe the Stone family that I am trying to locate must have been in the area about 1870 to 1890 because both of the sisters, Matikia and Nan(cy) Stone married and had children who were born in Platte county., I think the Stones migrated from the Danville area of Kentucky. Mattie's oldest child was born in 1875, the youngest in 1884, they were all born in Platte county, on a homestead between Dearborn and Edgerton. Matikia Stone married Thomas Stobaugh abut 1874 (from 1900 OK census). There are notes, jottings, etc., thqt indicate that both their families were close by. Thomas (K.T.) had at least one brother living in the area. Perhaps named Rueben. I know this is a lot of rather unorganized data, hard for an unrelated resercher to make sense of. I do research for people in Harper county, KS and Grant county, OK, and I do know it can be difficult. Thanks for any info. 1/8/1998 Dinah McDonaldDinah McDonald Working on my Brady family, in 1860 Platte county, census, Pettis township: Mat Brady, age 30, railroad worker; Ann Brady, age 26, wife, keeps house; Nicholas, age 2, son; William, age 1, son; Thanks for any help. 1/8/1998 Barbara RobinsonBarbara Robinson Looking for Thomas and Matilda (Mattie) Stobaugh resided in Platte ofunty between Danville and Edmonton in 1875-1881. Thanks. 4/25/1998 Helen Nichols BattlesonHelen Nichols Battleson In Cutler's History of Kansas Book, there was this on GABLE in Leavenworth County, KS -- it said: Frank M. Gable came to Kansas in February 1855, and located on Section 15, Township 9, Range 22. He lived on the farm until 1864, when he was married and settled on another farm in the same section, where he now resides. Since March 1881, he has been engaged in the agricultural implement business. In Leavenworth, in 1879, he was elected a member of the State Legislature, from the 15th District and has also held various Township offices. He was born at Camden Point, Platte county, MO., on May 15, 1842. His father, Barnabas Gable settled in that county in 1839. The 1850 census had Gable, Barnabas, County/State: Platte county, MO., Pettis township, page #428. My ancestor was said to be Mary Gable, d/o Barnabas Gable of No. MO., she married a Jackson (we believe he was Jay or Jesse). There were Radliff and Cushionberry connected to this family tree in some way. Is anyone working on this line? Thanks. 4/25/1998 J. K. MochJ. K. Moch John C. Love in 1847 and in 1849 he died. In January 1851 she married William H. Carter in Kaufman county, TX. Martha Jane and Wm. Carter were my gggrandparents. They both died 1871. Would like any info. Thank you. 4/25/1998 DSMeyerDSMeyer I am interested in the last name Glauner. My gggrandfather lived and was married there in 1862. I am attempting to find out information on his family. I would appreciate any info. Thanks. 5/25/1998 Jeff MorrisJeff Morris In the 1880 census for Platte county, MO, there is a Nat Gladden, age 27, wife Frances-25, son William, 6 and son Nowley, 1. Granny's mother was Myrtle Gladden born in 1882 and wouldn't have shown up on this census. She told me that her mother was Catherine Frances Roy, so by what I know this must be her grandfather and grandmother. I looked in a book called "Platte county Wills and Administration", and found a David Gladden, dated 12 June, 1858, wife Nancy B Gladden, children, William, Nancy Adlene, Mary Elizabeth and Nathaniel, recorded 28 January 1859. One thing that sort of thows me off though is the 1900 census. I find a Nathaniel Gladden in the same county, Platte, living as a boarder with another family. I feel this is the same person because the age is the same and the birth place of the parents is the same. He also is a farmer/laborer on both of them. He lists himself as single, not widowed or divorced. I don't know what would have happened to his family. Did they die, did they divorce? This is my next puzzle to figure out. Anyway, hopefully the above parents are our ggggrandparents. 5/25/1998 Carol MalloryCarol Mallory Looking for family of Andrew Johnson b. abt. 1811 KY (census), m. Charlotte ???, abt. 1843 in Clay or Platte county, MO. They are found in the 1850 Platte county census living in Pettis township with four children. Andrew died before August 1859, have found records in Jackson county, KS where his oldest children petitioned the court to have Nathaniel Christian Boydston appointed as their guardian. Have not been able to find where Andrew died and there is no mention of Charlotte in the court proceedings. She does show up in 1862 in Jackson county, KS. I believe that there is some kind of blood tie between Charlotte and NC Boydston. Any help would be greatly appreciated and would be glad to share the info I have on the children. Thanks. 5/25/1998 Brian WallsBrian Walls I'm trying to locate Robert Wall who was born around 1821 married around 1843 to Nancy Robertson. They lived in Bates county and show up in the 1850 census in Bates county, but disappear after that. We suspect he went North because his son (William Jackson Walls) shows up in the 1870 census of Platte county. He also goes under the name Timothy Wall in some records. Thanks. 5/25/1998 Barbara RobinsonBarbara Robinson A kind person looked up my Stobaugh surname in Davis chapel cemetery for me and I have sent for the book. Is there such a book for the Dearborn cemetery, is it still in use? What other cemeteries are close to Dearborn and might be in use by families living east of Dearborn. I am still trying to find my ggrandmothers grave. She did not seem to be buried with ggrandfather in Davis Chapel. She is Martha Stone Stobaugh and she married Keos F. Stobaugh. Two of their sons are buried in Davis chapel, it seems very strange she would not be buried there too. Thanks for any help.
